NIST Zero Trust Architecture Forum

The NCCoE is piloting the NIST Zero Trust Architecture Forum, an informal email discussion group to share lessons learned, find answers, solicit feedback, and make connections with professionals engaged in planning, designing, building, and managing or maintaining zero trust architectures.

About the Forum

The NCCoE will use the ZTA Forum to share updates on our zero trust projects, people, and events, and engage with the group to refine NIST NCCoE guidance on zero trust, advance the principles and tenets of zero trust, and inform the NCCoE’s ZTA projects.

For members, the ZTA Forum will provide the ability to connect and network with a community of zero trust practitioners across the United States and the world. There is no cost to join and participate in the ZTA Forum.

Membership and Platform

Membership is open to individuals with an interest in planning, designing, building, and managing or maintaining a zero trust architecture. To join, members are asked to share their email address and reason for joining. A ZTA Forum group administrator will review and accept your membership to the Forum.

The ZTA Forum uses Google Groups. Members can use either a personal or corporate email address to join and participate.

Communication within the ZTA Forum is subject to federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) laws and may be released by NIST in response to a FOIA request.

  • Keep content and posts professionally relevant and on topic.
  • Keep your subject lines clear and to the point.
  • Do not share job postings or solicit for employment.

  • Avoid posting issues with specific products or services. Issues with products or services should be routed to your service provider directly.

NIST reserves the right to unsubscribe members who do not comply with the intent of the service that NIST has provided for ZTA Forum use.

Expectations on Moderation

Initially, NIST NCCoE staff will be moderating discussions in the ZTA Forum. We want to publish all discussions, but we expect conversations to follow the conventions of polite discourse. Therefore, we will not post discussions that:

  • Contain vulgar language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive terms that target protected classes
  • Promote services or products (non-commercial links that are relevant to the ZTA Forum and its discussions are acceptable)
  • Are off topic
  • Are accusatory in nature

We recognize that the internet is a 24/7 medium, and your posts are welcome any time. However, moderating and posting of discussions will generally occur during business hours Monday through Friday (Eastern). If you post to the ZTA Forum after hours or on weekends, we will read and post them as early as possible the next business day.

If you have any questions about our moderation policy or how we apply it, please do not hesitate to contact us.
