Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) Americas Spring Summit

NIST NCCoE

Join NCCoE’s Bill Fisher and Bill Newhouse on Wednesday, March 30 from 1:45-2:30 ET for their presentation, “Addressing the Risks of Today; Preparing for the Risks of Tomorrow” at the FS-ISAC Americas Spring Summit in Orlando, Florida. During this presentation, the speakers will highlight how they collaborate with the financial services sector to mitigate current and emerging threats. Attendees will be introduced to two new projects, the Cybersecurity Framework Profile for Ransomware Risk Management and Migration to Post-Quantum Cryptography.

First, the session will take a deep dive into implementation of NIST’s ransomware guidance. We will introduce attendees to the new Cybersecurity Framework Profile for Ransomware Risk Management, which can be used to help organizations gauge their level of readiness to counter ransomware threats and to deal with the potential consequences of events and identify areas for improvement.

Following that discussion, presenters will showcase one of the NCCoE’s newest projects, Migration to Post-Quantum Cryptograph, which is initiating the development of practices to ease migration from the current set of public-key cryptographic algorithms to replacement algorithms that are resistant to quantum computer-based attacks. These practices will take the form of white papers, playbooks, and demonstrable implementations for organizations.
